Brancaster

One of the jewels in Norfolk’s crown and a signature Norfolk landmark, Brancaster beach boasts white sand and long expanse of sand dunes. With the famous Royal West Norfolk Golf Club tucked behind it, the beach is popular with families as the car park is close to the beach and there are toilet facilities available. Perfect for swimming, dog walking, running or simply sitting and enjoy the sun – Brancaster is one of Norfolk’s top beaches to visit.

We recommend checking the tide times before you visit as access to Brancaster’s car park is limited at high tide.

Holme Dunes

A little known stretch of sandy coastline that is perfect on a hot summer’s day when you want to escape the masses. Located through Hunstanton Golf Course you can walk for miles to Hunstanton or Thornham on white sand. Holme Dunes are also a haven for bird watchers, where The Wash meets the North Sea, it is perfectly located for attracting migrating birds.

Connected to Holme Dunes and located past the Lifeboat Inn in Thornham – enjoy a long stroll out along the sea defences to a wildlife paradise with inland water teeming with birds to the sandy beach beyond. This quiet beach has white sandy and a long stretch of dunes, plus when the tide is out you can forage for fresh samphire!

Burham Overy Staithe

A secluded and lesser known beach, Burnham Overy Staithe beach, reached by a one mile sea wall. Greeted by impressive dunes and onto a white sandy stretch of beach, this unique beach is well worth the trip and is perfect for those looking to get away from the crowds. However, if you have a young family this is not the most accessible beach.

Wells-Next-The-Sea

A popular family beach, Wells-Next-The-Sea is located at the end of a sea wall and has a café, toilet facilities and ample parking at the edge of the beach, surrounded by beautiful pinewoods. The iconic multicoloured beach huts that line the beach are cheerful site and the large expanse of sand gives all visitors enough space to enjoy a day in the sun. There are dog friendly and no dogs areas on the beach to cater for all, and fish and chips, pubs and arcades are just a short distance away in the town of Wells-Next-The-Sea.
