EXPLORING

If you’re planning on taking your four-legged friend on your next holiday, then why not consider a break to North Norfolk with a stay at one of our dog friendly holiday cottages? The perfect base to explore all of Norfolk’s beauty.

Dog Friendly Norfolk – why it’s the perfect place to stay

Home to miles of unspoilt coastline, wonderful countryside, picturesque market towns, famous nature reserves, parks and the historical city of Norwich, Norfolk is a delight for dog-owners and their furry friends to visit during any season or time of year.

Dog Friendly Beaches in North Norfolk

With over fifty beaches dotted around the Norfolk coast, dog owners are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where to take their dogs for days by the sea. And just a few minutes’ drive away from The Fring Estate, we are blessed with some wonderful dog friendly beaches, perfect for your pals to charge up and down, explore and refresh with a dip in the sea!

From the golden sand and shallow waters at Brancaster Beach, or miles of expansive beach, dunes, and pine forests at Holkham to the picturesque beach at Wells-Next-The-Sea with their famous multi-coloured beach huts, every beach within North Norfolk is truly unique.

And if you four legged friends are really into exploring then a trip to Hunstanton beach with its stunning cliff back drop is great for paddling amongst the rock pools.

Dog Friendly Walks in Norfolk

For keen walkers, why not lose yourself in the wonders of Norfolk’s tidal marshes, nature reserves, woodland and sand dunes as you pass through seaside towns and villages on the Norfolk Coast Path?

And for well-behaved dogs, Holt Country Park and Sheringham Park are glorious parklands to explore within North Norfolk.

Norfolk is also home to some historic stately homes which have wonderful parklands that are dog friendly. Feel like royalty as you wander around the grounds of Sandringham House, or take in the beautiful scenery around Blickling, Holkham or Felbrigg Hall.

Please note some restrictions may be in place at the time of visit due to wildlife such as cattle and deer roaming in the grounds.

Dog Friendly Days Out in Norfolk

Regardless of whether you are visiting as a family or just a couple with your canines, there are also many dog-friendly days out that Norfolk has to offer outside of just exploring the North Norfolk coastline.

You could navigate the wonderful Norfolk Broads with a day out to Wroxham or Stalham to hire a self-drive boat. Take in the views and wildlife of one of the UK’s most breath-taking waterways and stop to relax at a riverside pub to enjoy a spot of lunch.

Why not take a trip on the Bure Valley Railway and take in the beautiful scenery as you travel through the heart of the Norfolk Broads from the historic town of Aylsham, to the famous holiday town of Wroxham.

And for very well-behaved dogs, they can join their owners and jump aboard a boat at Morston Quay to spot the vast colony of seals that habitat Blakeney Point throughout the year – as long as your pooch can keep his excitement under control, we don’t want the seals spooked by overenthusiasm!
